She is sent to the state psychiatric hospital in Petersburg for treatment, and during her recovery she discovers the identity of her birth parents, one of whom is a fellow patient, Dan Ramsay. LouLou wants nothing to do with him. Even after the sudden death of her adopted father, she avoids Dan and buries her grief in composing music with Gregg.

But Gregg fears he’s discovered a disturbing secret about LouLou’s father…
